To develop engineers' ability to analyze equipment performance in order to make a diagnosis, make the necessary decisions in line with the company's economic and social policies, prepare engineers to incorporate the managerial skills required for their professional development, and equip them with the tools to handle the challenges associated with team leadership.

This Specialized Master’s® program is designed to train experts in industrial maintenance who are capable of leading the transformation of maintenance strategies and practices to address the technological, organizational, and environmental challenges facing the industry.

PROGRAM

Content

The program is full-time and consists of 480 hours of instruction, including:

  • Block 1: Building and managing an industrial and tertiary maintenance project
  • Block 2: Implementing operational safety and ensuring the availability of a complex system
  • Block 3: Managing economic and legal aspects
  • Block 4: Managing industrial and tertiary maintenance activities
  • Block 5: Analyzing the behavior of installations and managing their monitoring
  • Block 6: Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards

A professional thesis within a company: twice a week between October and February, then six months full-time in a company. This work is the subject of a thesis and a professional thesis defense in September.

Educational objectives

  • Train highly skilled managers responsible for maintaining industrial and service sector equipment.
  • Develop the engineer's ability to analyze the behavior of equipment in order to make a diagnosis and take the necessary decisions within the framework of the company's economic and social policy.
  • Prepare engineers to integrate the managerial skills necessary for their professional development into their skill set, and give them the tools to deal with the constraints associated with team leadership.

CALENDAR

  • Duration: 480 hours of training
  • Academic term: September–April: alternating between school and workplace (depending on the program)
  • Work placement: May–September – full-time at a company

ASSESSMENT METHODS

Individual assessment: 

  • Series of questions proposed by industry experts in the form of written exams
  • Collective evaluation
  • Case studies of industrial facilities presenting problems that candidates may encounter in their professional lives.
  • The six-month internship is supported by a teacher-researcher from the CPI/ENSAM laboratory.
  • The internship culminates in the writing and defense of a professional thesis.

PREREQUISITES

  • Engineering or university degree (5 years of higher education)
  • Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of professional experience
  • Equivalent foreign degree
  • Possible exemption

ADMISSION PROCESS

  • Recruitment session starting in January
  • Selection based on application and interview before a selection panel composed of half professionals, aimed at evaluating the following points:
    • candidate's scientific level
    • suitability of the candidate's professional project in relation to the purpose of the certification.

Teaching methods

In-person, 6 months of theoretical training and 6 months of immersion in a company through an internship or professional training contract, when conditions allow.
