On Thursday, April 30, four students from the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille organized a TEDx event in the TRESCA lecture hall, centered on the theme "Reshape Our Future."
For the event, nine speakers took the stage one after another in front of more than a hundred students to present a variety of topics related to AI, industry, healthcare, the environment, geopolitics, and more—all with one thing in common: challenging the way we view the future.
An adventure that began last September as part of the PJT 2A (tutored project), which the four engineering students embarked on with the goal of giving all their classmates the opportunity to think outside the box...
From the project to the event: a demanding experience
The students reflect on this demanding, “sometimes stressful” experience, but one that was above all marked by wonderful moments of preparation, coordination, and collaboration: “Seeing these nine speakers take the stage one after another is the culmination of months of intense work. We faced doubts, unexpected challenges, and logistical hurdles… but we never gave up. Today, we feel a deep sense of pride in having successfully created this event and shared it with so many people.”
Indeed, on the big day, the energy was palpable: a series of short, fast-paced presentations on stage... an event format that captured and held the audience’s attention, with the goal of sparking reflection, going beyond the simple aim of informing.
A training event whose primary goal was to put organizers in real-world situations and help them develop project management skills!
“This TEDx event was a true opportunity for sharing, reflection, and learning, where everyone left with a renewed sense of purpose and, we hope, a stronger determination to take action and shape the future.”
Thank you to all the speakers for their insightful remarks, and congratulations to Louise, Antoine, Lino, and Alexandre for organizing this event!
