ParolesArts et MĂ©tiers back with a new episode: Interview with Jean-RĂ©my Chardonnet, virtual reality and interactionÂ
BackgroundÂ
In ParolesArts et Métiers, we talk about industry, innovation, transitions, health, materials, new technologies, and many other topics related to engineering sciences and Arts et Métiers. Everyone in the Arts et Métiers community—students, staff, and alumni—is involved in the adventure. In each episode, designed and hosted by Carole Wahnoun, a research engineer on the Paris campus, with technical support from Jean-Marc Rousseau, Multimedia Designer and Producer at ICIFTech, we take the time to discuss an important topic related to Arts et Métiers with a new guest.

Biography of Jean-Rémy Chardonnet
Jean-RĂ©my Chardonnet's career spans several areas of expertise and activities. Â
Holder of a Master of Science in Mechatronics from the ENSMM Engineering School (now SUPMICROTECH) in Besançon and a PhD in Humanoid Robotics from the University of Montpellier II (LIRMM) completed in Tsukuba (Japan) with the Joint Robotics Laboratory (CNRS and AIST). From 2019 to 2020, he was a visiting researcher at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology/Institute for Information Management in Engineering. Â
In 2020, he is pursuing a Habilitation à Diriger les Recherches (HDR) in Automation at the Université Polytechnique des Hauts-de-France (LAMIH).
Deputy Director of the Arts et MĂ©tiers Institute Arts et MĂ©tiers Chalon-sur-SaĂ´ne, Jean-RĂ©my Chardonnet is a full professor at Arts et MĂ©tiers , alongside Lionel Roucoules, a lecturer and researcher at the Aix-en-Provence campus, Deputy Director of the Laboratory of Engineering for Physical and Digital Systems (LISPEN) (EA 7515). Â
His research focuses on virtual reality, particularly multimodal, personalized, and collaborative interaction in a virtual environment, with an interest in human factors (cyber discomfort, perception).
Jean-RĂ©my Chardonnet is head of the Entrepreneurship and Technological Innovation Program (PEIT) at the Arts et MĂ©tiers campus Arts et MĂ©tiers Cluny and the Franco-German Institute for the Industry of the Future, supported by Arts et MĂ©tiers Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. In this context, he is involved in the creation of a Franco-German GENIUS (Next Generation Industry) chair, which aims to promote the development of tomorrow's industry in Europe towards a more sustainable and resilient model, through four strategic areas: immersive technologies for collaborative design and virtual validation, advanced manufacturing processes and remanufacturing, optimization and reconfiguration of production systems, and the circular economy.Â
