Cédric Bœuf, graduate of the INGENUM specialized master's degree, class of 2016, talks about how his training was essential in meeting the needs of his company.

We wanted to change our PLM (product lifecycle management) system, but we didn't know how to address the various issues.

Cédric Bœuf is an information systems engineer at iXblue, a high-tech company specializing in underwater navigation and imaging equipment. Eager to gain expertise and efficiency to support this change in his company, Cédric opted for the MS INGENUM.

The MS teaches students how to design a digital model with the aim of optimizing product lifecycle management (PLM) and meeting user needs. " The virtual representation of a building or product makes it possible to aggregate all the data and detect inconsistencies as early as possible in the lifecycle, " explains Frédéric Segonds, head of the MS INGENUM program.

For Cédric, the project was ambitious. iXblue specializes in component design, but also in shipbuilding. A PLM strategy had to be developed that was suited to this industrial diversity. The challenge was met. The training gave him the perspective he needed to implement a three-year PLM strategy.

Acquire additional skills

" To implement this PLM strategy, I had to meet with employees at my company and identify their needs. Thanks to this training, I knew how to conduct interviews and summarize all the feedback, " says Cédric Bœuf.

The MS INGENUM program allows students to broaden their skills, take a step back, and analyze situations. " I am currently involved in the digitization of some of our industrial processes, such as managing the maturity, evolution/modification, and obsolescence of our product definitions," explains Cédric.

Student profiles sought after by companies

" Our students' profiles are highly sought after in the job market," says Frédéric Segonds, head of the MS INGENUM program.

Few professionals possess this skill, yet demand is high. This is especially true given that students quickly become operational. " 80% of the courses are taught by professionals, which allows for discussion of real-life cases," says Cédric Bœuf.

PLM affects all types of industries. " With MS, I realized that PLM is just as suitable for banking as it is for the textile industry, the automotive industry, etc.," says Cédric.

Registration is open until September 4. To apply or for any questions, please contact Frédéric Segonds at msingenum@ensam.eu or Valérie Saffar, MS administrative coordinator, at +33 (0)1 44 24 64 72.
