PCI SCEMM, Cetim (Technical Center for Mechanical Industries) and AMVALOR, the commercialization subsidiary ofArts et Métiers, will present the e-SPINDLE at the European EMO (World Machine Tool Exhibition) trade show, which will take place in Hanover from September 16 to 21, 2019.

The e-SPINDLE is the result of the INTELUS project (2014-2017) carried out in collaboration with PCI SCEMM (machine tool manufacturer and production line supplier), AMVALOR, and Cetim. This innovative electric spindle is designed to monitor the cutting process during machining and take action in real time. This integrated technology enables efficient management of sensors and actuators in rotating reference points.

The e-SPINDLE paves the way for intelligent machining and optimizes tool life through instantaneous process correction.

At the EMO European trade fair, PCI SCEMM, AMVALOR and Cetim will present three smart machining applications e-SPINDLE (Hall 12, Stand A06):

  • A tool holder for monitoring the cutting process (forces, vibrations, cutting fluid pressure);
  • An adaptive vibratory drilling tool holder, controlled by force threshold levels;
  • A lapping tool holder, incorporating real-time measurement of the workpiece diameter, used to control the position of the active parts (abrasive stones).

To learn more about e-SPINDLE, visit PCI SCEMM at the EMO trade show from Monday, September 16 to Saturday, September 21, at booth Hall 12, booth A06!
