Amen Allah Chebbi, a third-year doctoral student at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Châlons-en-Champagne within the MSMP laboratory, takes stock of his training.

> What path did you take before your doctorate?

I hold a bachelor’s degree inphysics and chemistry and amaster’s degree in Mechanical Modeling and Simulation. I completed my Master of Science a capstone internship atthe Center for Materials Processing ( more information), in partnership withAltairEngineering. The topic was“Characterization and numerical modelingof themechanicalbehaviorofpneumaticrubberfor the optimization of car crash simulations.”
The
skills I acquired during mymaster’s program enabled me to pursue a Ph.D. at the MSMP laboratory. My thesis is titled “Multiscale numerical modeling and simulation of the machinability of agro-composites.”
This thesis is part of an economic and ecological approach
,as the goal is to reduce the numberof experimental tests. Its objective is to develop a digital tool for predicting the machinability of agro-composites while accounting for the effects ofclimaticfactors(humidity and temperature).

> Why did you decide to pursue a PhD?

Forseveralreasons: to improve my skills, specialize in composite materials, develop mysoft skills(basic skills), and acquire scientific rigor.
I chose Arts et Métiers it is one of the best engineering schools in France. Doing a thesis at this institutionisauniqueopportunity.

> What did you get out of it?

In addition to technical skills, the thesis allowed me to develop my analytical skills, andimprove my writing skills and my English as well as to clearly discuss my research workand
Respect
er deadlines is the major major difficultyI encountered when three three years. Anticipation and organization have been my allies..

> What are you planning to do next?

I want to work as a composite engineer in the automotive sector.

> Any advice for people interested in pursuing a PhD?

If you are looking for high-quality training and an enriching professional experience, go for it!, go for it! go for it!
Choose a thesis topic that you like and fago for ityour work your work with dedication and determination!
