MédiastiAM – Henri G. Delauze,2,000 m² of new space dedicated to the technology sector and industrial renewal, complementing the campus's existing facilities, was inaugurated on Friday, September 30, 2022.
 

MédiastiAM, a project included in the 2015-2020 South State-Region Plan Contract (CPER), is a major project to modernize the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers , with a budget of €5.4 million (including €1.4 million for scientific equipment). It is an integral part of the Evoluting Learning Factory (ELF) concept, rolled out across all Arts et Métiers campuses Arts et Métiers training engineers for the industry of the future.

2,000 square meters dedicated to learning how to learn, innovating, and entrepreneurship
 

MédiastiAM has a digital learning space tailored to students' needs and the implementation of new teaching practices, closely linked to the campus's research and development activities.

It consists of:

  • from two research platforms at the Lispen laboratory:

A collaborative engineering and virtual reality platform equipped with a 4x2 m2 wall of screens, designed to create new tools and services based on virtual technologies.

A4.0 training factory for the development of lean management in an Industry 4.0 context, using innovative teaching aids (assembly lines, business simulation, serious gamesgames);

  • a prototyping workshop 
    with 3D printers, a laser cutting machine, a machining machine for small objects, and a mechatronics assembly area;
  • a learning center with 130 places adapted to the postures of new generations of learners, divided into different workspaces: a lounge area, nine small collaborative work rooms with touch screens, and two large spaces for individual or shared work.
    It also houses a library.
  •  Three multifunctional classrooms equipped with reconfigurable furniture to facilitate innovation and new teaching practices. One of the rooms is set up as a recording studio that will enable the production of video clips for teachers.
  • an events area and a cafeteria, which will contribute to the overall conviviality and complement this architectural layout, enabling the campus to host partners, exhibitions, and after-work events, conferences, forums, etc.

The missions of MédiastiAM

  • Strengthen the appeal of the Arts et Métiers brand Arts et Métiers the context of the "Industry of the Future";
  • Provide students and teachers with new educational resources and working conditions;
  • Facilitate synergies between the various components of the campus: training, research, innovation, and promotion.
  • Deploy new teaching practices in project mode through digital technology and personalized learning paths;
  • Improve interactions between the various stakeholders on campus: students from different programs, teachers, teacher-researchers, industrial and institutional partners, alumni;
  • Promoting science and technology among young talent;
  • Welcoming students from partner middle schools and high schools, campus sponsors, and the general public;
  • Create a technological showcase for the benefit of science and technology in the Aix region.
