Fifty middle and high school students from across the academy are expected to attend the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers . Each team will be tasked with designing a drone for a specific purpose, presenting and explaining their design and construction process to a jury, including in English, and competing against other groups in a piloting test on a set course. A drone kit donated by ST Microelectronics was distributed at the beginning of the year to the schools participating in this initiative.

Arts et Métiers campuses and institutes Arts et Métiers to creating ecosystems for growth that also serve as centers for technological mediation, promoting interaction between school and university audiences. The "Action Drone" competition is organized by the Union des Professeurs de STI (UPSTI) association and the Aix-Marseille Academy Rectorate. It is part of an initiative to promote the teaching of engineering, computer science, and digital sciences to middle and high school students, and to highlight the value of technology. The competition aims to develop their appetite for innovation and technological creation in the service of societal issues, and to encourage them to pursue studies in the manufacture and design of innovative systems.
