Providing companies with a comprehensive overview of Arts et Métiers offerings Arts et Métiers working with manufacturers on their employer branding are the two priorities that Philippe Rouch has set himself.

Why did you accept this position?

Arts et Métiers always Arts et Métiers a special relationship with businesses, whether in its training or research activities. It was this unique feature that led me to join the school nearly fifteen years ago: the opportunity to tackle real problems and come up with real solutions that will actually be implemented. Business relations are therefore central to the school's identity.
In addition, after serving as director of the Georges Charpak Institute of Human Biomechanics and the Paris campus, I wanted to gain a global perspective on the school's projects. It's very rewarding: I'm rediscovering the 20 research areas covered by the school and the various partnerships it has forged with its industrial partners.

What is your assessment of corporate relations in schools?

They are extremely well developed, covering a wide variety of subjects, which demonstrates the highly interdisciplinary nature of Arts et Métiers engineering. For example, the sponsorship program now includes around 20 companies of all sizes, which contribute nearly €1 million per year toArts et Métiers  fundingArts et Métiers
In 2023, thanks to the remarkable work of Mickaël Rivette and the Corporate Relations Offices on campus, the institution was ranked third in the Agires Synergie awards, which recognize the quality of school-business relations among all French schools. This clearly showsArts et Métiers unique among engineering schools. The institution has a real understanding of what industry is and what its needs are.

What are your plans?

Firstly, to offer companies a comprehensive overview of what Arts et Métiers can offer them Arts et Métiers not only our traditional activities that are well known to all, but also those of our subsidiaries, AM Valor for partnership-based research and AM Talents for apprenticeship training and continuing education. This catalog contains a wide range of specific offerings that complement each other perfectly in order to best meet the needs of the industrial world.
