Arts et Métiers the Cpas1option Charter again! This year, the Cpas1option 2024 seminar took place on March 18 and 19, 2024, at Centrale Lyon, attended by Michel Jauzein, director of the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Cluny, and Evan Bruchet, president of the Student Association.

Created in 2007, the Cpas1option initiative, led by the National Bureau of Engineering Students (BNEI), the Conference of Directors of French Engineering Schools (CDEFI), and the Conference of Grandes Ecoles (CGE), aims to prevent risky behavior within Grandes Ecoles.

Whether from a legal or moral perspective, student associations and school administrators are responsible for all matters relating to student health and well-being. This charter sets out eight principles that streamline the prevention approach taken within schools, particularly by the working duo of the association president and school principal. Each of these principles is accompanied by performance indicators and methodological tools enabling their practical application within the context of educational institutions.

THE 8 PRINCIPLES OF THE "CPAS1OPTION" APPROACH

  • Combine the synergy of management and associations and integrate external prevention stakeholders.
  • Train all those involved in student life
  • Identify risky behaviors and potential dangers
  • Raise awareness among all students and staff at the school
  • Implement through the establishment of associated tools and mechanisms
  • Identifying and responding to cases of addiction
  • Combating gender-based and sexual violence and taking action in response to cases
  • Continuously improve and sustain

Each year, a two-day awareness seminar is offered to student association leaders and presidents to work together on preventing and combating risky behaviors and addictive behaviors, whether related to festive or everyday activities. This event provides a space for inter-institutional exchange and reflection.

This year, the event took place on March 18 and 19, 2024, at Centrale Lyon and was a highlight for discussions on student well-being and the prevention of risky behavior.

Several institutions have already adopted the Cpas1option approach, such as Arts et Métiers. By signing the charter, they successfully integrate rules and ongoing dialogue between student associations and the administration into everyday school life.
