A LABEL TO MEET THE SKILLS AND PROFESSIONAL NEEDS OF COMPANIES AND THE FORESTRY AND WOOD INDUSTRY
This interministerial label is supported by three groups of stakeholders: "Businesses and industry," "Education and training," and "Institutions and funders." Together, they implement actions to better meet the skills and job needs of companies and an industry, linking them to the challenges of making jobs attractive, developments in training, and innovation in connection with research and development.
The first improvement committee meeting was held on June 13 at the Maison Régionale de l’Innovation in Dijon, where I observed strong participation and support for the initiative, says Robert Collet, Director of CMQ Forêt-Bois (FB).
His team includes Michel Jauzein, Andela Ceau-Dura, and Jean-Luc Martinez (see team box).
A LABEL IN THE EXCELLENCE CATEGORY
We have been awarded the Excellence label for two years, adds Robert Collet.
Excellence also makes it possible to seek out strong partnerships and projects, such as a project on the AMI Compétences et Métiers d’Avenir (Skills and Jobs of the Future) initiative in response to the Low Carbon Strategy (construction and renovation using wood and bio-based products, and wood energy).
We are putting together a dossier in coordination with three other CMQs in the BFC region: Automobiles and Future Mobility, Innovative Industries (electricity, nuclear power), and Smart Territories (eco-construction and carbon-free energy).
A FRANCE-AUSTRIA PARTNERSHIP
This category of excellence requires the CMQ to be open to international opportunities.
The governance of this CMQ is built around a binational committee comprising Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and Styria. It will bring together stakeholders from the French and Austrian training and economic sectors with the aim of promoting professions and expertise, explains Andela Ceau-Dura, who is responsible for international coordination within the team. This international cooperation will then be extended to other priority geographical areas in the wood industry.
The CMQ FB BFC is the only one in the excellence category in the forestry and wood industry in mainland France (there are two others in Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Grand-Est), but it shares this category with a CMQ in French Guiana.
The CMQ FB BFC's four strategic objectives
- Objective 1: Anticipate the impact of developments in the sector and the needs of the companies and organizations concerned.
- Objective 2: Adapt the training offer to these needs and thus establish training programs and original teaching methods adapted to new needs.
- Objective 3: Develop the appeal of careers in the forestry and wood industry at all levels of training and promote them.
- Objective 4: Create the conditions for a network of educational institutions that work together to promote careers and training in the forestry and wood industry and respond to its challenges.
