Validation of prior learning
The VAP allows individuals to pursue higher education studies without having the qualifications or diplomas required for admission to the desired program.
To obtain this exemption, candidates must compile a file in which they present and analyze the skills and knowledge acquired during their professional and personal careers.
This file must be accompanied by supporting documents (proof of experience, professional documents, certificates, etc.) demonstrating the authenticity and relevance of the skills acquired.
Once the file has been finalized, it is submitted for review to an ENSAM educational committee, composed of teachers and training managers.
This committee meets twice a year, in March and June, and verifies, evaluates, and certifies the achievements presented before making a decision on the requested validation.
To access the VAP, all of the following conditions must be met:
- Have stopped studying for at least 2 years on the planned date of resumption;
- Be at least 20 years old on that same date;
- If a candidate has already been enrolled in a training program and has not successfully completed a year, they must wait three years before applying for a VAP for that same year.
All ENSAM certifications listed in the France Compétences directories are accessible through the VAE (validation of acquired experience) process.
Cost of the VAP
The cost of the procedure is set at €300. This procedure is generally financed individually. However, for employees, it may be covered by their employer.
