Get involved in a collaborative project! Are you a researcher, doctoral student, project leader, or research support staff? Are you planning to submit a proposal in 2026 or 2027? This session is for you.

This session will help you better understand Pillar 2 of the Horizon Europe program, which funds international collaborative projects in innovation, applied research, prototyping, and solution validation. We will outline the application process for Research and Innovation Actions (RIA) and Innovation Actions (IA), along with tips for preparing a proposal. You will also hear from successful applicants and have the opportunity to ask them questions.

A budget of 95.5 billion euros for European research. More than 600 calls for proposals are posted every day on the European Commission’s portal. And yet, few projects are submitted—often due to a lack of information.

Why Pillar 2? 

It supports collaborative projects addressing major global challenges and industrial competitiveness in fields as diverse as the humanities and social sciences, health, digital technology, energy, climate, security, mobility, the environment, culture, and industry… 

Morning schedule (tentative) 

8:45–9:10 a.m.: Welcome coffee 

9:10 a.m.: Opening remarks 

9:15–10:00 a.m.: Presentation on Pillar 2 of the Horizon Europe program, “Support for Applied Research,” by Ms. Sylvie Gangloff on behalf of the Cluster 2 NCP and Ms. Fanny Schultz on behalf of the Legal and Financial NCP. 

10:00–10:30 a.m.: Presentation by CNAM graduate Wafa Guiga (SAYFOOD Laboratory, CNAM) 

10:30–10:45 a.m.: Break 

10:45–11:15 a.m.: Testimonial from the winner of Cluster 2, “Culture, Creativity, and an Inclusive Society”: Léonard Moulin (INED Research Team) 

11:15–11:45 a.m.: Testimonial from the winner of Cluster 5 (Climate, Energy, and Mobility): Nazih Mechbal (PIMM Laboratory, Ensam - Cnam) 

12:00–12:15 p.m.: Distribution of assembly kits by the Outreach Offices, CNAM, ENSAM, and INED 

12:15 p.m.: Lunch buffet (networking session)
