New equipment to train engineers in manufacturing processes
At the initiative of the industrial director of the Safran site in La Teste-de-Buch, Arnault Remey, himself a former student of Arts et Métiers This new equipment enriches the technology park of the Bordeaux-Talence campus.
The machining center will allow students to train in conditions similar to those found in industry . It will be used in particular for practical work and projects dedicated to machining, drilling and instrumentation.
Its arrival also completes the campus's manufacturing chain . The machine can be used, in particular, to finalize parts produced using additive manufacturing with the WAAM robot. Students will thus be able to grasp the entire manufacturing process, from design and simulation to the production of parts, their finishing, and process optimization.

New perspectives for research
Beyond its educational value, this new equipment also constitutes an additional tool to support the research activities of the campus .
The machining center will be instrumented to collect and analyze data generated during machining operations. This will provide research teams with a new experimental platform to study manufacturing processes and develop new approaches to analysis and optimization.
This donation illustrates the close relationship between Safran and Arts et Métiers and their shared desire to bring education, research and industrial realities closer together .
The Bordeaux-Talence campus warmly thanks Safran for this sponsorship and for its continued commitment to the students and staff of Arts et Métiers .
