Arts et Métiers the Cpas1option Charter again! This year, the Cpas1option 2023 seminar took place on March 27 and 28, 2023, at Clermont Auvergne INP and brought together nearly 280 school staff and student association representatives.
What is the "Cpas1option" charter?
Created in 2007 by the CDEFI, the CGE, and the BNEI, this initiative aims to support higher education institutions, teaching staff, and student life in implementing concrete measures to prevent addictive behaviors, risky behaviors, and sexist and sexual harassment and violence.
Whether from a legal or moral perspective, student associations and school administrators are responsible for all matters relating to student health and well-being. This charter sets out eight principles that streamline the prevention approach taken within schools, particularly by the working duo of the association president and school principal. Each of these principles is accompanied by performance indicators and methodological tools enabling their practical application within the context of educational institutions.
The 8 principles of this approach
- Combine the synergy of management and associations and integrate external prevention stakeholders.
- Train all those involved in student life
- Identify risky behaviors and potential dangers
- Raise awareness among all students and staff at the school
- Implement through the establishment of associated tools and mechanisms
- Identifying and responding to cases of addiction
- Combating gender-based and sexual violence and taking action in response to cases
- Continuously improve and sustain
A look back at the 2023 "Cpas1Option" seminar
Every year since 2007, a two-day awareness seminar has been offered to the directors and presidents of student associations to work together on preventing and combating risky behaviors and addictions, whether related to festive activities or everyday life. This event will provide a forum for inter-institutional discussion and reflection on the theme of "student well-being."
As every year, the event was a highlight for discussing issues related to student well-being and the prevention of risky behavior, allowing for numerous exchanges and the sharing of best practices among participants.
Several institutions have already adopted the Cpas1option approach, such as Arts et Métiers. By signing the charter, they successfully integrate rules and ongoing dialogue between student associations and the administration into everyday school life.
