With the arrival of a project manager and an official launch day in early July 2025, the RéCLasSIF project (Network of Campuses Labeled as Industry of the Future Solutions) is taking off.
To move into the future, industry must modernize. RéCLasSIF is banking on the idea of transforming France's industrial base by focusing on adaptive technological solutions rather than disruptive solutions that would render the existing infrastructure obsolete.
Integrating eco-friendly industrial solutions
The project, led by Arts et Métiers the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) and funded to the tune of €14.7 million by the France 2030 program, aims to be the leading academic player in supporting industry in the face of environmental, societal, and digital challenges. "With RéCLasSIF, we are aiming for reindustrialization through the integration of eco-responsible green industrial solutions," explains Fanny Lachat, who has been leading the project since last March.
To achieve this, RéCLasSIF is structured around two main areas. On the one hand, it aims to establish a network of campuses, certified with a "Solution Industrie du Futur" (Industry of the Future Solution) quality label, which will serve as a benchmark for industrial players and will be based on the ELFs of the campuses. On the other hand, it offers an initial portfolio of 29 research projects spread across the country, selected for their innovative technological proposals or for the skills they help to develop. These include, for example, the UltraComp project, which proposes to set up a digital map accompanying products from design to dismantling, and the Gorafi project, which is working to build a platform for cooperation between several immersive environments.
A launch day on July 7
Launched in September 2024 for a period of five years, RéCLasSIF will be officially launched on July 7 during a kick-off day (the morning session is open to the public upon registration). "The aim of this event is to enable project leaders and guests from the industry to gain a better understanding of the structuring project that is RéCLasSIF and to start working together," she explains.
The program includes speeches, a presentation of the project by its scientific leaders, the signing of the consortium agreement, and a round table discussion on the theme of "Reindustrialization and sovereignty—the roles and impacts of Industry of the Future Solutions" with speakers from institutions (Grenoble Institute of Technology, ENS Lyon, etc.) and companies (Orange, etc.).
Streamline communication between projects
The afternoon will be reserved for project leaders: "July 7 will mark the first meeting between all RéCLasSIF stakeholders, and more specifically between the IMT andArts et Métiers teams," explains Fanny Lachat. We have therefore designed this afternoon to encourage discussion, the sharing of ideas, the creation of links between projects, and their transfer to industry."
This will give the project a fresh start: it is one of the first goals set by its new head. "First," says Fanny Lachat, "it is important to lay the right foundations for our collaboration with IMT so that scientific projects can get off to the best possible start and useful exchanges can develop for the RéCLasSIF label."
