We met with Louis Morel, a young entrepreneur who studied exclusively at Arts et Métiers discuss his career path, his entrepreneurial experiences, and his future prospects.

Louis enrolled in the Bachelor's program at the Bordeaux campus in 2014 with the initial goal of becoming a civil engineer. However, as he completed internships, new opportunities arose, and his interest in entrepreneurship was sparked during his third year of the Bachelor's program: as a highly independent intern, he took part in the invention of an innovative patented technology.

Eager to combine his many passions, Louis decided to turn to entrepreneurship. He then joined the PEIT (Parcours Entreprenariat Innovation Technologique) program on the Angers campus, where he met Antonin Girardeau, his future business partner.

A travel guitar designed to meet the needs of globetrotting musicians

Together, they decided to embark on an entrepreneurial venture with a concept that meets a real need: a collapsible acoustic guitar that can be carried in a compact backpack with 24 liters of travel gear. This guitar, made of carbon fiber for practical and environmental reasons, transforms into a storage space the size of carry-on luggage.

Creating an innovation involves numerous tests, so the two students teamed up with a luthier and an acoustics laboratory (the European Institute of Music Professions in Le Mans) and received support from an incubator (Angers Technopole). They then developed their first prototype and launched the project. Mogi Guitar during their 3rdissue PGE year (2021).

After graduating, they worked part-time to advance their project. Louis was recruited by the Angers technology park, where he had the opportunity to use his skills to identify innovations and help researchers launch their own businesses.

A year later, the project had grown. The two enthusiasts won the Pays de la Loire PEPITE competition, which rewards student entrepreneurs, enabling them to devote themselves fully to their business.

In 2022, they developed a new prototype to improve their product technically, and a year later, they achieved the 3rdissue prototype they presented to the general public.

A crowdfunding campaign to industrialize their project!

Today, there are three people in the company: Antonin and Louis, the founders, and Alan, an apprentice who creates visual content for Mogi Guitar. For these three enthusiasts, Mogi Guitar is a testing ground for communication. They create and test ideas with their community while remaining true to their values.

Mogi Guitar is much more than a business: it is a human adventure, a passion shared among friends, focused on entrepreneurship. Mogi for MOrel and GIraft, two partners with a strong taste for adventure.

Mogi Guitar is launching its crowdfunding campaign on April 22 at 6 p.m. with the goal of raising between €150,000 and €200,000 to begin mass production of their guitar.
