13th for Industrial Engineering and 11th for Energy Engineering – were awarded to enthusiastic young engineers ready to take on the challenges of the future on Friday, June 23, in the Grand Amphitheater of the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Paris, in the presence of:

  • Nadège Troussier, Deputy Director General in charge of Training (DGAF), introduced the event: " The greatest reward for our staff is to see you here today. And we hope to see you again soon. "
  • Mickaël Rivette, Director of the Paris campus: " May your passion and determination guide you toward extraordinary projects in which you will be agents of change, taking into account the environmental and societal responsibilities we have toward our planet. "

The Specialized Engineering Program at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Paris offers two specializations. The respective directors awarded diplomas in:

  • Energy Engineering: Director of Education Michaël Pereira, Senior Lecturer at Arts et Métiers researcher at the Fluid Engineering and Energy Systems Laboratory"Don't forget: doing this job is an opportunity, a privilege! Society needs engineers to meet challenges. Serve the public interest, bring a humanistic and progressive dimension to your work, and uphold our values. And of course, enjoy your professional life. I wish you every success!"
  • Industrial Engineering: Academic Director Imade Koutiri, Senior Lecturer at Arts et Métiers researcher at the Processes and Engineering in Mechanics and Materials Laboratory "Things won't always be easy; sometimes they'll even be complicated. But you're young, and you'll have enough energy to take on all the challenges that await you."

The entire teaching staff of the specialized engineering program was also present and organized this wonderful ceremony.

Administrative managers: Aminata Diarra, Thin-Hinane Adjouj, and Léa Galap

Educational Coordinators: Florence Beau and Priscilla Burtin

Graduates share their experiences

  • Perrine Chiron, graduate in Industrial Engineering

"I benefited from interesting lessons with very attentive teachers and met lots of great people! I recommend work-study programs because, in my case, my job is not the one I learned at school but at my workplace, thanks to the knowledge I acquired at school." Today, Perrine works in production strategy as an industrial and commercial planning coordinator at SNOP, part of the FSD group.

  • Nicolas Rafowicz, graduate in Energy Engineering, specializing in Nuclear Engineering

"The instructors on this course provided us with high-quality, comprehensive teaching. What interested me most was how what we learn at school complements what we are asked to do in the field."

Nicolas Rafowicz completed a work-study program at the Ministry of the Armed Forces, with a year of specialization at a school belonging to the CEA (French Atomic Energy Commission) that provides training in atomic engineering, atthe National Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (ISTN).

"My work-study program is concluding with an end-of-year internship that I am doing at Edvance, in the accident management of new reactors. I will have a permanent contract there starting in early October 2023."

  • Sarah Geffroy, graduate in Energy Engineering, specializing in Nuclear Engineering

"My training at Arts et Métiers enriching and technically comprehensive. Doing a work-study program helps you grow and is a real asset: you have the opportunity to build a professional network within the school, but you are also surrounded by extremely interesting and caring professors."

After completing her engineering degree, Sarah pursued the GI PLATOMaster of Science Research to strengthen her theoretical knowledge. She then passed a competitive exam that secured her a thesis grant fromthe Pheniics Doctoral School atParis-Saclay University to develop an antiproton recycling device aimed at improving antihydrogen production. She will thus work withthe IJCLab and the GBAR team at CERN on studying the behavior of antimatter in a gravitational field: “Being an engineer doesn’t prevent you from doing research—on the contrary, because you’re versatile. Moreover, when you apply to pursue a thesis, having completed a work-study program means you already know how to work.”

Starting in September, Sarah Geffroy will also be teaching tutorials at Ecole Polytech Paris-Saclay in mechanical and electromagnetism refresher courses!

Congratulations to everyone for their degree and Good luck to future students! of these sectors!Graduation ceremony
