From Morocco to France, Othmane Niazi has followed a path that could inspire and encourage future international students.
After obtaining his high school diploma in mathematics and being admitted to ENSAM in Casablanca, Othmane Niazi took a two-year preparatory course focused on industrial mechanics. He then pursued a specialization in Mechanical Engineering, also for two years, before joining the Metz campus.
A brilliant student, Othmane came first in his class among 120 students enrolled in preparatory classes.

"I chose Arts et Métiers its reputation in the field of mechanical engineering," he explains. Only two out of sixty students from each specialization in my program in Casablanca were accepted. For me, it's the best school in France, so it was the best opportunity. I miss my family sometimes, but I'm lucky to be able to travel about twice a year to see my loved ones."
Once admitted to the Metz campus, he ranked 51st among 1,240 second-year students throughout France and was therefore able to choose the area of expertise that best suited his career plans.
"I am passionate about mechanics, particularly in the field of transportation (rail/automotive)," he continues. I chose TETRA expertise so that I could focus on a specific area of transportation and build a solid network." In the short term, his goal is to specialize in automotive or railway mechanics in order to acquire technical skills. In this way, in the long term, with additional training in management, he will be able to manage teams and have a more global perspective.
"You have to have a vision for the future and set yourself a goal."
What advice would he give to other students who want to follow in his footsteps?
"It's important to develop your sense of curiosity and work hard," he emphasizes. Getting involved in extracurricular activities outside of school helps you stand out. In addition, you need to have a vision for the future and set yourself professional goals and objectives to stay motivated. I got to where I am today because I'm passionate about what I do. I didn't do things to be "like everyone else," but because I enjoy them. I think that made all the difference. Presenting my profile well on LinkedIn and being active on social media also opened up opportunities for me."
Alongside his studies in Casablanca, Othmane was responsible for CAD (computer-aided design) training for new students who had difficulty familiarizing themselves with certain software programs, and he was also the communications manager for his school's promotional activities.
