As part of the Accens project,Arts et Métiers Institute for Consulting and Innovation in Technological Training (ICIFTech)Arts et Métiers produced a training module accessible to secondary school and higher education teachers.
Acquiring technical knowledge about virtual and augmented reality, learning about their uses in industry, medicine, and the arts, and identifying what they can contribute to training and learning: these are the three objectives of the module on virtual technologies offered by Arts et Métiers.
Free training open to the general public
"This module, available for free on the Savoir platform, helps teachers get a better handle on different virtual technologies through a practical application framework," explains Cécile Pichon, multimedia educational engineer at the Institute for Consulting and Innovation in Technological Training (ICIFTech).
Users have access to interactive content (quizzes, photos, videos, etc.) on the use and benefits of augmented/virtual reality in education.
The training module is structured in several parts: the theoretical framework, applications and use cases in various fields, examples of applications in education, etc.
A final self-assessment quiz allows users to test their knowledge at the end of the training.
The participation of severalArts et Métiers teachers
The module was developed by ICIFTech with the participation of six teachers from the school:
- Jean-Rémy Chardonnet, lecturer and researcher in virtual reality (Institut Image, Chalon-sur-Saône)
- Florence Danglade, teacher specializing in mechanical and digital engineering (Cluny campus)
- Rémy Eynard, professor of extended reality technology and mechanical design (Angers campus)
- Alex Gabriel, former lecturer and researcher in virtual reality (Paris campus)
- Abdelmajid Kadri, research engineer specializing in virtual technologies (Laval Institute)
- Dominique Scaravetti, professor and researcher (Bordeaux campus)
Accens, a program co-financed by the Department of Education
Launched at the end of 2017, the Accens (ACCompagnement ENSeignants) project aims to promote the transformation of teaching practices. This initiative has received €70,000 in funding from the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
In particular, it has enabled the creation of three educational innovation rooms on the Arts et Métiers campuses Arts et Métiers , Cluny, and Paris, as well as the development of teaching sequences related to the use of virtual and/or augmented reality.
The launch of the open-access training module is the final stage of the project.
