Arts et Métiers , a prestigious engineering school that trains leaders in responsible industries, Arts et Métiers a partnership with METRON, a cleantech company specializing in energy efficiency for the industrial sector, to integrate the METRON platform into the school's curriculum and optimize energy efficiency across Arts et Métiers eight campuses.
The METRON platform is a central digital solution that enables visualization, real-time monitoring, optimization, and modeling of an entity's energy performance strategy and decarbonization roadmap.
It thus enables Arts et Métiers its engineering students to learn how to control their energy consumption and use the platform as an educational tool in their learning. It therefore helps to raise awareness and train future engineers in the importance of energy management through digital technology.
From September to March, a group of students devoted part of their time to optimizing energy use on the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille. This work not only improved the campus's energy performance, but also the students' skills in data-driven energy management, through the provision of datasets relating to industrial equipment.

METRON also offers training in energy and data to Arts et Métiers students Arts et Métiers complement their existing education. Registered as a training organization since early 2023 and Qualiopi certified since June 2023, METRON provides access to its online learning platform, METRON Academy, to help students develop their skills in these key areas.
This training program was developed in collaboration with Arts et Métiers. METRON thus benefits from the institution's excellence in pedagogy and teaching, particularly the Evolutive Learning Factory on each campus. These scalable production lines, representative of the industry of the future, are fully digitized and backed up by digital twins to trainArts et Métiers students and teachers. They can also be used by partner companies, including METRON.
Vincent Sciandra, CEO of METRON, said: "We are very pleased with this partnership with Arts et Métiers illustrates our desire to play a leading and concrete role in training the future major players in industry and research. By giving them access to our platform and expertise, we are helping to prepare young talent and make digital technology a useful tool for meeting the energy and climate challenges of tomorrow. This innovative partnership paves the way for future collaborations with other higher education institutions, helping to raise awareness among a whole generation of engineers about the role of digital technology in decarbonization."
Xavier Chateau, Deputy CEO of the Arts et Métiers Group Arts et Métiers “Supporting companies in fulfilling their social and environmental responsibilities by training their future leaders is a priority for Arts et Métiers. Training our students in energy optimization solutions through digitalization, such as those developed by METRON, illustrates our shared desire to develop skills acquisition in an industrial-scale environment, like a real, evolving factory school.”
