On October 14, 2025, Arts et Métiers, its subsidiary AMValor, and Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) signed a new five-year framework agreement, confirming their shared commitment to strengthening synergies between engineers, clinicians, and researchers.

Research, training, and innovation: common strategic priorities

Following an initial collaboration that began in 2017 and is set to expire at the end of 2024, Arts et Métiers AP-HP have decided to renew their partnership. This new agreement, which will remain in effect until 2030, is based on a strengthened collaboration strategy designed to address the growing challenges of innovation in healthcare. The goal is to accelerate the development of innovative research projects and strengthen technology transfers for the benefit of patients.

The partnership aims to promote the creation of collaborative research projects based on complementary skills in engineering, medicine, and health technologies. This translates in particular into:

  • The development of inter-Carnot projects on cutting-edge topics;

  • The establishment of "AP-HP reception desks" to promote the integration of clinicians into Arts et Métiers laboratories Arts et Métiers

  • Opening hospital services to engineering students as part of internships or study projects;

  • The joint organization of scientific events and the dissemination of knowledge to the general public.

Priority research areas focused on health

Following theArts et Métiers"AM Santé Program" seminar, several areas were identified as priorities:

  • 3D printing in healthcare: via the AP-HP's PRIM3D platform, which draws on recognized expertise in additive manufacturing to meet the needs of healthcare institutions.

  • Next-generation medical devices: development of innovative stents or implants in response to specific clinical issues.

  • Clinical simulation and biomechanical modeling: validation of surgical simulators, implant modeling, optimization of surgical practices.

Shared scientific governance

Professor Patricia Thoreux, AP-HP representative, and Professor Claudio Vergari, head of clinical research at Arts et Métiers, supervise the smooth implementation of projects. Their mission is to ensure effective coordination between institutions, healthcare services, and research laboratories.
