The academic final of the Engineering Science Olympiads at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille

The "Engineering Science Olympiad" competition is a national competition organized bythe Union of Industrial Science and Technology Teachers (UPSTI). This educational initiative aims to develop initiative, a taste for research, and engineering skills in high school students.

An unmissable annual event for young scientists, this national competition is open to high school students in their junior and senior years at public or private general and technical high schools under contract. The work is carried out in teams. Each team consists of two to five high school students, supervised by one or two teachers. The projects carried out by the teams must include multi-technological experimental work in the field of engineering sciences. Registration is done through teachers, who play an essential role in motivating students.

The aim of these Olympics is to evaluate and reward experimental projects in engineering sciences, carried out by high school students over several months.

On Wednesday, April 24, the Lille campus will welcome 26 teams. Each team will present its experimental project and explain its design and implementation process to a jury, with prizes awarded by the campus and event partners.

The winning team will participate in the national final on May 28, 2019 (an oral test consisting of presenting the experimental project, followed by the awards ceremony). The national final will take place at EDF's premises.

The Arts et Métiers campusesin Aix-en-Provence and Metz are also hosting the academic finals of the Engineering Science Olympiads in their respective school districts.
