Arts et Métiers, through nine of its laboratories, focuses its research policy on gaining a better understanding of how the human body works and how it changes, for use in various fields of application (personalized medicine, medical devices, sports, disability, ergonomics, transportation).
The research strategy pursued at Arts et Métiers on a continuum between fundamental and applied research, with the aim of developing innovative solutions that benefit patients:
- Valorization through patent filing (around 20 patents filed, 80% of which are international)
- Technology and innovation transfer for business development. Example: EOS low-dose X-ray system (EOS Imaging, France) with the participation ofthe Georges Charpak Institute of Human Biomechanics, Consult-Station telemedicine cabin developed by H4D (H4D, France) in partnership with the Product Design and Innovation Laboratory (LCPI).
Each year, the research conducted enables us to meet the needs of around 30 innovative companies seeking technological solutions and scientific expertise to assist in the design of medical devices and routine clinical testing.

Training
The training courses offered in the field of health are in line with the institution's mission to train the next generation of scientific and technical experts who will be capable of innovating and making a high-level contribution to European and international industry in this field.
Master's degree in research
The BioMedical Engineering (BME-Paris) program offers a Master's degree in Bioengineering, based on a unique partnership betweenParis Descartes University and ParisTech (specifically Arts et Métiers,ESPCI,ENSMP, andENST).
General engineering degree: expertise in "organic"
A course entitled " Bioengineering: Biomechanics and Engineering for Health " is also offered to third-year students to prepare them for the expectations of industry in this field. In addition to lectures, a significant portion of the course is devoted to tutorials on a specialized project developed throughout the first semester, before students complete an end-of-studies internship in a company.
