News

Launched in 2019 byPolytechnicum(the Engineering and Management Center atthe University of Burgundy-Franche-Comté), this initiative aims to promote regional education, encourage women to pursue careers in science, and enhance the appeal of local areas.

More specifically, this outreach initiative takes the form ofa traveling bus that crisscrosses the region’s roads, with two counselors on board and plenty of information for high school students about their options for continuing their education.

From November 15 to December 10, 2021, the “Ingénieur.e Manager Tour” bus will visit no fewer than 30,000 students and set up in the courtyards of more than 35 high schools in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. The program is open to students in their senior year, as well as those in preparatory classes and two-year post-secondary programs; depending on the high school, it may also include students in their junior or even sophomore years.

The goal is to prioritize areas far from major cities in order to improve access to information.

OBJECTIVES:

COMBATING SELF-CENSORSHIP – EXPANDING THE RANGE OF POSSIBILITIES
Many students do not consider pursuing engineering or management degrees because they lack information about the programs, the duration of the courses, the cost of living as a student, or simply because they do not want to move far from their families.
BOOSTING TALENT: DARE TO BECOME AN ENGINEER AND/OR MANAGER
To inform, raise awareness, inspire, and boost talent—these are the goals of this innovative initiative aimed at high school students in our region.
