Open houses are an effective way to strengthen ties with citizens by inviting them to discover the premises and activities of a school they pass by every day. But the main goal is to recruit the Arts et Métiers students Arts et Métiers tomorrow.

Promoting technology platforms

One of the unique featuresArts et Métiers its combination of theory and practice. The Open House Days reflect this brand DNA. In fact, there is a common model for each campus/institute: a presentationArts et Métiers, followed by a guided tour of the premises. For the most part, students are responsible for welcoming visitors. The teaching team and campus staff are also involved in presenting the technological platforms on which Arts et Métiers students Arts et Métiers their skills.

Local characteristics

Although there is a common format, each campus and institute has its own local characteristics. In Metz, the city's six grandes écoles open their doors at the same time. This means that the Metz campus can welcome up to 700 high school students in a single day. The Aix-en-Provence campus offers an open house in partnership with a high school that offers preparatory classes. The idea is to give young people an overview of the path they need to take in order to enroll in ageneral engineering program. In addition, to build loyalty among visitors to its open days, the Cluny campus presents original student projects called "les inédits" (the unpublished) every year. In 2017, visitors were able to see an identical replica of the Citroën Scarabée d'Or half-track, which, along with four other vehicles, made the first crossing of the Sahara in 1922.

Student and staff involvement

Unlike a trade show, open house days allow visitors to spend more time talking to people in a relaxed setting. That's why Arts et Métiers students Arts et Métiers staff, who are the school's main ambassadors and training advisors, turn out in large numbers.
