Virtual Reality – Principles and Applications

Virtual reality is a maturing technology that is rapidly entering the market. With connected objects, the internet is becoming accessible everywhere at all times, and virtual and augmented reality interfaces are enabling connections between the real world and its possible digital representations. There are many applications (consumer, industry, health, heritage, etc.).
The presentation will focus on the principles and technologies of virtual reality, the current barriers to virtual immersion (interaction between humans and digital data), and a few illustrations.
