The Institute of Mechanics and Engineering (I2M)—partly based on the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Bordeaux-Talence —is organizing an international workshop on April 15 and 16, 2019, on the Bordeaux campus. This event, entitled "Upscaling in Porous Media," is also supported bythe Institute of Fluid Mechanics (IMFT) in Toulouse under the auspices of the French InterPore Chapter (FIC).

These two days will provide an opportunity to discuss with international experts the latest advances in scaling and characterization of transfer phenomena in porous media. This event is organized in tribute to Michel Quintard, who was Director of Research at the Institut de Mécanique des Fluides (IMFT) in Toulouse and studied transfer mechanisms in porous media.

The workshop will take place in the La Rochefoucauld Liancourt (LRL) amphitheater, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15, and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16. It will consist of 16 30-minute presentations by French and international researchers on transfer in porous media.
