Around twenty first-year students from the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille are spending five weeks this summer building a school in Tokarpur, Nepal.

Starting on June 25, members ofthe Gadz'humanitaire association will fly to Nepal with plans to rebuild the village school destroyed in the 2015 earthquakes. This reconstruction will enable around 100 children aged 6 to 15 to access education in better conditions, "a key factor in a country's development," according to Sébastien, secretary of the student association and engineering student Arts et Métiers. During this project, in collaboration with the association "Un avenir pour Tokarpur" (A Future for Tokarpur), the engineering students also hope to bring school supplies, renovate village buildings damaged by the earthquakes, and organize extracurricular activities for the children.

The members of the association are organizing several initiatives to raise as much money as possible and thus bring their project to fruition. The students have organized events, approached companies, and launched a crowdfunding campaign.
