Students from three high schools, Pierre de Courbertin High School in Meaux, Martin Luther King High School in Bussy Saint-Georges, and Bachelard High School in Chelles, accompanied by three teachers, came to visit the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Paris on the morning of Wednesday, April 5.

This is the "Intégrer une Grande Ecole avec un bac Technologique" (Entering a prestigious university with a technical high school diploma) success program launched this year and , which is part of the Pierre de Courbertin high school.

Emmanuel Richaud, lecturer and researcher at the Materials Mechanics Processes and Engineering Laboratory (PIMM) and head of the Cordées de la réussite program on campus, began by introducing students to Arts et Métiers the courses offered there.

The group then visited the PIMM laboratory, where they observed experiments conducted by Morgan Dal on laser processes and then by Paulo Ferreira on the use of polymers.

During the presentation, Caroline Vibert, a doctoral student in the same laboratory and a graduate of the École Polytechnique, spoke about her career path and her interest in science, and answered questions from the students.

It was a beautiful morning that once again allowed the Paris campus to be a source of inspiration for high school students about to begin a new chapter in their lives.

"We enjoyed the hands-on activities, and when someone explains their career path to us, it's very interesting because we can imagine ourselves in the future," said some of the students, who aspire to become engineers.Image
