GaSole, a green and socially responsible association

Clean Walk

The GaSole (Gadzarts Solidaires) Bordeaux association enables students to undertake humanitarian and environmental initiatives.

This association, based in the Bordeaux area, is involved in a wide range of awareness-raising projects and direct actions to support students and residents of the Bordeaux region.

Maxime and Mathis, presidents of the GaSole and Action Froid associations respectively, are two committed and highly complementary students. When asked about their motivations for joining the association, their answers are instinctive: Maxime wanted to get involved in the environmental cause that has been close to his heart for a long time, and Mathis has been doing charity work since he was 15. The decision to join the GaSole adventure was therefore an obvious one for these two Gadzarts.

The GaSole association in Bordeaux is deeply rooted in the Bordeaux metropolitan area. Indeed, its activities are mainly local in scope, which fosters a sense of closeness between the city's residents and the young volunteers.

On September 17, the association organized a Clean Walk through the streets of Talence with first-year students. This awareness-raising and team-building initiative was carried out in partnership with "Ecomégot" and resulted in the collection and recycling of 14 kg of cigarette butts.

Screenings of films raising awareness of environmental issues and presentations by eco-responsible professionals are planned for the end of this school year. The aim is to raise awareness among as many people as possible through modern initiatives that are accessible to all.

The Gasole association also organizes numerous solidarity initiatives on various scales:

This year, students donated their hair to two organizations that create wigs for cancer patients.

Volunteer students organize outreach visits through the Action Froid association at least once a week to distribute food to people in need (distribution of essential hygiene products, hot meals, etc.). The aim of these weekly outreach visits is to create social ties and provide material and human support to people in precarious situations.

The association, which has seven members, is supported throughout the year by numerous volunteer students from the École Polytechnique who are sensitive to humanitarian, social, and environmental causes.
