The DESCARTES project is a project set up and led by Francisco Chinesta, a researcher at the PIMM laboratory (Paris campus), at the request of the CNRS and its subsidiary CREATE based in Singapore.
Launched on January 26, 2022, for a period of five years, the project focuses on the development of intelligent modeling for decision support in critical urban systems.
It brings together the CNRS, 12 French universities and engineering schools (including Arts et Métiers), 5 universities or research agencies in Singapore, and 6 industrial partners
(ARIA Tec Nologies Thales, EDF, Atos, MATCOR CETIM company).
The inauguration took place on January 26, 2022, in person in Singapore and remotely with:

- Professor Subra Suresh, President of Nanyang Technological University
- Dr. Jean Yves Marzin, Director of the Institute for Engineering and Systems Sciences at CNRS
