For this latest edition of the Eloquence Challenge, five students— Nathan Beltran, El Ghali Senhaji Mouhri, Adam Hammache, Charles Stierer-Godart, and Anastasia Walch-Guinebert —spoke in front of their classmates and staff members on March 11.

Due to the health crisis, the event did not take place at the Cluny theater, as it did last year, but in a Teams meeting, led by Agnès Bourg, a teacher at the Cluny campus, and Françoise Darnaud, a librarian.

The exercise took place under the watchful eye of Olivier Masi, president of the Association des Véhicules & des Hommes and lawyer at the Paris Bar. Two preparatory sessions were led by Olivier Masi ahead of the big day.

Our five challengers were able to showcase their talents as speakers on the following topics:

  • "Greta (Thunberg)!!! We're going to miss you!"
  • "I had a wonderful evening... but it wasn't this one" (Groucho Marx)
  • "Should we have regrets or remorse?"

At the end of their visit, all candidates received their certificates of participation.

They also shared their impressions of this exercise, whichNathan described as "breaking away from traditional teaching methods."

I think I'm more comfortable with the exercise now, Anastasia tells us.

This challenge allows us to use our creativity to tell a story, says Adam.
