"I wanted to study in Paris because there are more new technologies applied in industry than in Colombia," explains this second-year engineering student who is pursuing a double degree on the Paris campus.
From Medellin to Paris
Juan Pablo comes from EAFIT University in Colombia, where he is studying production engineering. As a recipient of the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship, Juan Pablo was selected from among the best students and was able to apply to a French higher education institution for his double degree.
Arts et Métiers, a choice influenced by the school's ranking and word of mouth
As a partner institution of EAFIT University, Arts et Métiers naturally Arts et Métiers on the list of schools offering dual degrees in engineering in France.
"I chose Arts et Métiers its ranking among other partner engineering schools and its areas of specialization. But what really made the difference was talking to a student from the Bordeaux campus who was doing a dual degree at my university and who told me about his school. It made me want to come and study at Arts et Métiers "
Thesecond-yearcurriculum: a real asset in your academic career
"Since arriving at Arts et Métiers, I have discovered a specialty that I enjoy: rotating machinery, at the DynFluid laboratory." Juan Pablo was specializing in supply chain management when he applied to Arts et Métiers. Now he would like to continue his studies in rotating machinery, which opens doors to the transportation and energy industries.
He is also satisfied because the tutorials and practicals at Arts et Métiers more theory than in Colombia, which reinforces his knowledge.
A bright and promising future
Once he has his degree, Juan Pablo hopes to stay in France to start his professional career. "In a few years, I would like to return to Colombia to share my experience and contribute to the development of its industry."
Nine other Colombian students were selected to join the dual degree program with Arts et Métiers. Seven chose the Paris campus, and two chose the Angers campus to specialize in physical engineering.
