45 middle and high school students from across the academy are expected to arrive on April 25 at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers .
The "Action Drone" competition is organized by the Union of STI Teachers (UPSTI) and the Aix-Marseille Academy Rectorate. It is part of an initiative to promote the teaching of engineering, computer science, and digital sciences to middle and high school students, and to highlight the value of technology. The competition aims to develop their appetite for innovation and technological creation in the service of societal issues, and to encourage them to pursue studies in the manufacture and design of innovative systems.
Each team will have to design a drone for a specific purpose, present and explain their design and construction process to a jury, including in English, and compete against other groups in a piloting test on a set course.

The seventh wave of theArts et Métiers OpinionWay observatory study, “Young People and Industry,” showed that the image of industry is improving significantly among young people, driven by innovation and products made in France. In 2019, opinion of industry reached an all-time high: 80% of high school students in science or technology streams have a favorable opinion of industry, an increase of 5 points in one year.
