As part of the Interreg TRANSPORT project, the Lille-based MSMP team is organizing a technology morning on the topic of coating characterization.

This project aims to improve the competitiveness of companies operating in several transport sectors (aeronautics, aerospace, rail, automotive, and their subcontractors) by improving the performance of metal parts (friction and corrosion resistance).

  • Innovative technology that is sustainable and scalable to industrial levels (sol-gel technology, corrosion inhibitors, and sustainable lubricants, etc.).
  • Improve the performance of parts by increasing their longevity while limiting the risk of damage.

In this project, the Lille-based MSMP (Mechanics, Surfaces and Materials Processing Laboratory) team is focusing on its core expertise in characterizing materials and coatings by studying their mechanical properties (hardness, toughness, etc.) and morphological properties (roughness, porosity, etc.). Launched in October 2016, this project is led by the University of Mons. In addition to the Lille-based MSMP team, the Matéria Nova materials research center, the University of Lille, and the University of Valenciennes and Hainaut Cambrésis are also collaborating on the project.
