The fourth edition of Startonic, bringing together students and speakers from Arts et Métiers, Centrale Lille, and SKEMA Business School, took place on the weekend of March 22, 23, and 24, 2024, on the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille! Let's take a look back at these three intense days of immersion, designed to propel students' entrepreneurial projects forward!
On March 22, 23, and 24, Sylvain Bigot and several engineering students from the Lille campus welcomed students and faculty from Centrale Lille and SKEMA Business School for a weekend dedicated to entrepreneurship.
This was an opportunity for all participants to collaborate and exchange ideas to help the eight startups get off the ground!
A full weekend to boost the business models of young entrepreneurs
When the ingenious minds of Arts et Métiers Centrale Lille meet the entrepreneurial spirit of SKEMA Business School, great things happen! exclaims Justine Chong, Business Owner at Leroy Merlin and coach for the Startonic weekend.
And indeed, the eight entrepreneurial project leaders, assisted by other volunteer students, were able to work on their business models and develop their projects over the course of three days punctuated by themed workshops and social events.
"What is the value proposition for my project?" "Is my positioning competitive?" These are just some of the questions that students had to grapple with as they worked on their business models, with the goal of being able to present their projects to a mock jury of partners and investors.
A rich and varied program of activities
During these three days, and to guide students in their thinking, various coaches who are experts in their fields took turns offering workshops on a variety of topics. On the agenda:
- Introduction to the weekend with a "Startup Café" activity: Present your idea and summarize in two minutes what you are looking for during the Startonic weekend.
- Ice-breaking and networking among students and division into groups
- Express coaching workshops
- Value proposition
- Identification of technical choices
- Go to market: launch and validation of value propositions
- Business model CANVAS
- Growth Hacking
- The power and challenges of technology
- Intellectual property
- Tour of the platforms and workshops at the Arts et Métiers campus Arts et Métiers Lille
- The event concluded with final presentations before a jury combining the industrial experience of two Archis Gadz students and the entrepreneurial dynamism embodied by two SKEMA alumni.
Over the course of the weekend, eight startups were put to the test and came out stronger than ever! The results were overwhelmingly positive, as the participants' boundless imagination, the excitement of the weekend, and their boundless energy led to a wealth of innovative ideas that will undoubtedly enrich these promising companies!
