A team from Chambéry is involved in the "Mission Carb 0" project alongside ten French and Italian partners. The project aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises in decarbonizing their activities.
The European Union has set itself the target of reducing its greenhouse gas emissions by 80 to 95% by 2050 compared to 1990 levels. In France and Italy, the National Low Carbon Strategy and the "Piano nazionale per la Transizione Ecologica (PTE)" also set ambitious targets for 2030.
Industrial companies alone account for almost 25% of CO2 emissions in Europe. The ALCOTRA territory, an Alpine region between France and Italy, includes historic industrial sectors made up of small and medium-sized enterprises whose emissions are significant.
Due to their size and lack of resources, these companies are currently unable to contribute to decarbonization efforts. The large number of different and complex methods, tools, and contacts does not encourage them to engage in this process.
The "Mission Carb 0" project, dedicated to transalpine cooperation projects, aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises in decarbonizing their activities. It brings together ten French and Italian partners and is supported by the European ALCOTRA fund dedicated to transalpine cooperation projects.
Funding comes from Interreg VI-A France-Italy (ALCOTRA) with a budget of €241,920 ( ) (total project budget: €1,950,350). The grant amounts to €193,536.
Contribute expertise in environmental assessment
At the Chambéry institute, Joachim Jusselme and Charlotte Sannier (AMVALOR engineers) and Tom Bauer (lecturer-researcher) are involved in this project. The team, reinforced by the arrival of an AMVALOR engineer in mid-March, is contributing its expertise in environmental assessment of product life cycles to define a simplified carbon diagnosis methodology that will be made available to companies via an online platform developed by the Savoie Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
It will also provide support to certain companies in the mountain sector with the Mountain Cluster and the Savoie Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This support will be provided in two stages: an initial carbon diagnosis and recommendations for actions to reduce their CO2 emissions.
