The Arts & Métiers Think Tank was created in 2018, jointly by the École NationaleArts et Métiers the Société des Ingénieurs Arts et Métiers. Its dual mission is to conduct forward-looking research on industry and technology in the public interest and to fuel reflection on the future of the school and its identity.

Technological innovation is revolutionizing healthcare. The medtech sector is growing rapidly, particularly in France. Healthcare is no longer the sole preserve of doctors: engineers now play a key role not only in companies but also in hospitals, in direct contact with patients, and are therefore at the heart of the transformation of our healthcare systems.

This report by the Arts & Métiers Think Tank explains that this transformation involves the creation of new professions, new training programs, and new areas of cooperation between doctors and engineers.

It also shows how "health engineering" is an attractive career path for younger generations who are searching for meaning and eager to make an impact.
